CNAME stands for Canonical Name. A CNAME record is a kind of DNS record that’s utilized to point a domain name to another domain name, instead of an IP address.

For example, suppose you want to make sure that your site is example.com, however you’ve also enrolled examples.com and want it to go to your main site.

In that case, you can set up a CNAME record so anyone who visits examples.com would go to example.com instead.
